This is a one-time meeting for you and your student. During our time together you will receive information about high school guidelines, the path to college and universities, the beauty of course selection, what sets a student apart, and how to begin with the end in mind!
Ready to Apply exists for ordinary families to build a pathway to successful college admissions, scholarships, and for the right doors of opportunity to open for our extraordinary students. Each child is different and we are here to answer every single question along the way. We believe that starting with a goal in sight is the right way to begin high school!
Scheduled in 2-hour sessions with no rushed checklists
Begins immediately with the Common App. All students need is a charged device and a little excitement!

Jackie Hooks
Ready to Apply came to life in 2021 around The Hooks family dinner table where Jackie Hooks started helping her oldest son, Jake, and his friends apply to college. Jackie quickly realized that college applications had changed drastically since she submitted her college application in 1994. The process and application itself felt overwhelming, taking way more time and energy than she had anticipated. What began as helping my own kids soon grew into supporting their friends, then more students as word spread. Along the way, it became clear just how many families were navigating this process without access to meaningful guidance. In 2025, I retired from teaching to focus on this work full-time. It became Jackie’s mission to create a program allowing ordinary families to help their extraordinary students gain access to the game of college applications and admissions, and actually win!
